It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 18-19).Bu araştırma yazısında temel olarak Beşparmak Dağları zirvesinde mayına düşen ve terk edilmek zorunda kalınan Türk tankının mürettebatından olan Er Abdulkadir Kurt ve Onbaşı Gürler Erdağ’ın Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtı öncesinde, anında ve sonrasında yaşadıkları anlatılacaktır. Bunların yanı sıra Kıbrıs krizinin geçmişi, harekâta doğru adım adım ilerleyen süreç ve bu süreç boyunca Türk halkının yaşadıkları ele alınacaktır. Son olarak ise araştırma yazısına konu olmuş gaziler Er Abdulkadir Kurt ve Onbaşı Gürler Erdağ’ın 43 yıl aradan sonra Kıbrıs’a gerçekleştirdikleri ziyaret ele alınacak ve bu ziyaret vesilesiyle onların gözünden tank olayı ve tankı tekrar gördüklerinde neler hissettikleri yazıya aktarılacaktır. Bu araştırma makalesi ile bugüne kadar popülaritesini korumayı başarmış ve halk arasında bir efsaneye dönmüş olan ve yazılı tarihe geçirilmemiş olan tank olayı ve Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtı farklı açılardan özgün bir biçimde ele alınacaktır.The main focus of this research article will be the Turkish tank that fell into a mine and was abandoned in the deemed impossible rocky roads of Beşparmak Mountains during the Cyprus Operation, and the expressions of its crew members, Private Abdulkadir Kurt and Corporal Gürler Erdağ, about what happened before, during, and after the tank incident. In addition to the tank incident, the background of the Cyprus crisis, the events that led to a military operation, what the Turkish population experienced during that time and how the operation ended will be held as well. Lastly, the visit of the soldiers to Cyprus after 43 years will be covered in the text and the feelings and thoughts of soldiers about that event will be reflected purely as much as possible.
