It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (page 14).Geçmişten günümüze kadar değerini koruyabilmiş sporlar arasında eskrimin, ülkemizde kendine has bir yeri vardır. ODTü Eskrim Kulübü sayesinde ilk zamanlarda bünyesindeki öğrencilere, daha sonra 7’den 70’e isteyen herkese, amatör ya da profesyonel olarak bu spora katılma imkanı tanınmış ve eskrim ve sporcu kültürünün yayılması sağlanmıştır. ODTü Eskrim’liler günümüzde dünyanın dört bir yanında, ulusal ve uluslararası maçlara katılmakla kalmayıp, aynı zamanda yurt içi ve yurt dışında kendi eskrim kulüplerini kurmakta, eskrimci ruhunu ve sporcu disiplinini gittikleri her yerde insanlara aşılamaktalardır. Burada, kıdemli ODTü Eskrimcileri ve eskrim antrenötleri olan saygıdeğer Ozan Sarı ve Armağan Karabulut ile eskrim ve ODTü ‘de Eskrim hakkında önemli görüşmeler yapılmış ve bu röportajların sağladığı bilgi ve bilgelik ODTü Eskrim’in tarihi hakkındaki bu makaleye aktarılmaya ve tarihsel bir perspektif içinde sunulmaya çalışılmıştır.Among the many respectable sports that adorn Human and Turkish history, fencing has a unique place. METU Fencing Club has, initially to the members of the university, and later to anyone who wishes, young or old, to take part in this sport either as an amateur or a professional, and introduced them to sportsmanship as a whole. Now, METU’s fencers not only fence both in national and international competitions, but also teach those who would listen, in new fencing clubs and individually, the spirit of fencing and the discipline of a sportsman.
