It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Bu darbe Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’ni birçok açıdan değişikliğe sürüklemiştir. Siyaset dışında etkilediği bir diğer alanlar Türkiye’nin ekonomik, kültürel ve sosyal durumlarıdır. Bu araştırmada 12 Eylül Darbesinin getirdiği yasakların ve kısıtlamaların Türk Müziğine etkileri araştırılmıştır. Darbe öncesi ve sonrası; özellikle Anadolu Rock ve Arabesk Müzik türlerinin mevcut durumları, hangi alanlarda nasıl etkilendikleri, darbenin bu türler üzerindeki etkisinin karşılaştırması, dönemin ünlü sanatçıları ve müzik şirketleri, dönemin nasıl sona erdiği incelenmiştir. İlgili araştırmalar kaynak olarak kullanılmıştır. O dönemlere şahitlik etmiş kasetçi Mehmet Koçoğlu ile yaptığımız röportaj dönemin müzik piyasasını ve sektördeki insanların nasıl mağdur olduğunu daha iyi anlamamıza yardımcı olmuştur, kaybolan kasetler ve yasaklanan müzikler hakkında bilgi edinilmesini sağlamıştır. 12 Eylül gibi Türkiye’yi oldukça değiştiren bir tarihin Türk Müziği konusundaki etkisini gözler önüne sermek, dönemin kültürel hayatının siyasetten nasıl etkilendiği, sanatçıların ve halkın yaşadıklarının ne kadar önemli olduğunu öğrenmemizi sağlayacaktır.When the date showed September 12, 1980, the Republic of Turkey faced a new coup after 20 years, when the Turkish Army took over the administration completely. The September 12 Coup or the September 12 Revolution is a military intervention carried out with the chain of command under the leadership of Kenan Evren, the Chief of Staff of the period. This coup led the Republic of Turkey to change in many ways. Apart from politics, it affected Turkey's economic, cultural and social conditions. In this research, the effects of the prohibitions and restrictions caused by the September 12 Military Coup on Turkish music is investigated. Before and after the coup; in particular, the current status of Anatolian Rock and arabesque music genres, how they were affected, the comparison of the impact of the coup on these genres, the famous artists and music companies of the period, and how the period ended. Our interview with Mehmet Koçoğlu who witnessed that period helped us better understand the music market of the period and how people in the industry were victimized, and provided information about lost tapes and banned music.
