It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Bu çalışmada, Niyazi Bey’in Osmanlı-Yunan Savaşı’ndaki çarpıcı rolü, İttihat ve Terakki Cemiyeti içindeki konumu, Türk halkına armağan ettiği sıkça kullanılan deyimler ve talihsiz ölümü incelenmiştir. Ardından Niyazi Bey’in büyük katkıları olan Resneliler Köşkü’nün tarihi, mimarisi, Bakırköy semti için önemi ve perili olarak adlandırılmasının kültürel nedenleri anlatılmıştır. Köşk’ün güncel durumu ve korunması için atılan adımlar, İstanbul’daki diğer perili köşkler arasında öne çıkan özellikleriyle birlikte incelenmiştir. Halk arasında dolaşan bu köşkle ilgili efsaneler ise Perili Köşk’ün zengin tarih ve kültür mirasının güncel etkileri vurgulanmaktadır.Resneli Niyazi is a figure who made important contributions to Turkish history. In this study, Resneli Niyazi's striking role in the Ottoman-Greek War, his position in the Committee of Union and Progress (İttihat ve Terakki Cemiyeti), the frequently used idioms he gifted to the Turkish people, and his unfortunate death were examined. Then, the history, architecture, importance of the Resneliler Mansion, to which Resneli Niyazi made great contributions, for the Bakırköy district and the cultural reasons why it is called haunted are explained. The current status of the mansion and the steps taken for its preservation were examined together with its prominent features among other haunted mansions in Istanbul.
