It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 17-18).Eti Maden İşletmeleri Kırka Bor İşletmesi 1970 yılında Eskişehir'in Kırka Mahallesinde Kırka Sodyum Tuzu Şantiye Şefliği adıyla kurulmuştur. Atatürk'ün emri ile ülkemizdeki yer altı kaynaklarını işlemek amacıyla kurulan Etibank'ın çatısı altında ilk hizmetlerine başlayan işletme, kuruluşundan bugüne Etibank'ın yanı sıra Eti Holding A.Ş. ve Eti Maden İşletmeleri Genel Müdürlüğü'ne bağlı olarak hizmet vermiştir. İşletme, maden çıkarma ve işleme teknolojilerinin de gelişmesiyle üretimini artırsa da elde edilen gelir bazı dönemlerde üretim artışıyla orantılı olmamıştır. Sanayinin tuzu olarak nitelendirilen bor madeninin kullanım alanları günden güne artmakta, işletmenin ürettiği ürünler de cam sanayide, metalürji ve temizlik alanlarında kullanılmaktadır. İşletmenin bölge halkına ekonomik katkısı olmakla beraber, üretim sürecinde çıkan atıklar nedeniyle doğaya zararı da dokunmaktadır.Kırka Boron Works was first established in 1970 with the name of Kırka Sodium Salt Site Management in Eskişehir-Kırka. The facility started to serve under Etibank which was established with the order of Atatürk to process underground resources in Turkey, in addition to Etibank, facility also served under Eti Holding A.Ş. and Eti Mine Works General Management. Although the facility increased its production depending on the technological advances in mine extraction and processing, the revenue was sometimes not proportional to increase in the production. Boron known as the salt of the industry, and its area of usage is constantly expanding. The products produced by the facility is used in cleaning, glass industry and metallurgical industry.
