First and second order homodyne detection statistics are calculated and it is observed that self phase modulated multimode fields can exhibit more squeezing than single mode fields. A method is derived whereby heterodyne detection statistics of multimode self phase modulated fields can be calculated for any given modal expansion set.vii, 34 leavesEnglishinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSelf phase modulated fieldPhotodetection statisticsHomodyne and heterodyne detectionSqueezed lightTK6553 .C45 1991Phase modulation.Modulation theory.Photodetection statistics of self phase modulated fieldsThesis
