It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 18-26).Bu makale, İstanbul'un tarihi ve kültürel mirasını koruma konusunda önemli bir figür olarak tanınan Çelik Gülersoy'un hayatını, kariyerini ve İstanbul’a katkılarını incelemektedir. Gülersoy, İstanbul'un önemli turistik yerlerinde kapsamlı restorasyon projeleri gerçekleştirdi. Makalede, Gülersoy'un Türkiye Turing ve Otomobil Kurumu (TTOK) içindeki önemli konumu da ayrıntılı biçimde ele alınmaktadır. Önemli projeleri vurgulanmakta, bu projelerin İstanbul'un kültürel kimliği ve turizm sektörüne etkileri açıklanmaktadır. Ayrıca çalışma, Gülersoy'un Türkiye'nin turizm sektörünün yönelik görüşlerini açıklamaktadır. Ayrıca, Gülersoy'un restorasyon projelerine yönelik eleştiriler incelendi. İsmail Yenigün ile yapılan röportajdan elde edilen özgün bilgiler sayesinde Gülersoy'un liderlik tarzı, projelere yaklaşımı ve özellikle Adalar projesi hakkında detaylı bilgilere yer verilmekte. Makale, Çelik Gülersoy'un İstanbul'a yaptığı katkıların bütüncül bir değerlendirmesini sunmayı amaçlamaktadır.This article examines the life, career, and contributions of Çelik Gülersoy as a figure known for his significant role in preserving Istanbul's historical and cultural heritage. He made extensive restoration projects in Istanbul’s well-known places. The article provides a comprehensive overview of Gülersoy’s important position in the Touring and Automobile Club of Turkey (TTOK). It highlights notable projects, discussing their impact on Istanbul's cultural identity and tourism sector. Additionally, the paper addresses Gülersoy’s views on the problems faced by Turkey's tourism industry. Moreover, criticisms of Gülersoy’s restoration methods and management practices are analyzed. Interview with İsmail Yenigün provides additional context regarding Gülersoy's leadership style and approach to projects. Also, information about the Adalar project is provided in the interview.
