It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 23-24).Amerika ve Sovyet Rusya’yı karşı karşıya getiren, yakın tarihe “U-2 Uçak Krizi” olarak geçen hadisenin ortaya çıkışında iki süper güç arasındaki stratejik mücadele yatmaktadır. Amerika’nın Sovyetlere karşı duyduğu güvensizlik, krizin patlak vermesinde baş etken olarak gösterilmektir. 1 Mayıs 1960 tarihinde Türkiye’den kalkan U-2 casus uçağının Sovyet topraklarında düşürülmesinin etkileri bu projede Türk basınına yansımalarıyla beraber incelenecektir.In recent history, U-2 Crisis confronted World’s two superpowers USA and USSR which caused because of the Strategic struggle between Soviet Russia and the United States. As the main cause of U-2 Crisis, America’s insecurity feeling towards Soviet Russia can be shown.
