It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 15-16).1940’lar ve 1950’lerde kurulan Adana’nın iki spor kulübünün, Adana Demirspor ve Adanaspor’un, arasındaki rekabet, sadece sportif bir rekabet olarak görülmemelidir. Demiryolu kültürü etrafında şekillenen Adana Demirspor ile pamuk üreticilerinin kurduğu Adanaspor arasındaki rekabet, Adana’nın iki farklı toplumsal dinamiğinin temsilcisi olmuştur. Bu çalışmada Adanaspor ve Adana Demirsporun ortaya çıkışı, sosyal ve ekonomik etkileri ve aralarındaki rekabet ele alınmıştır.Rivalry between two of the sport clubs of Adana which have been established in 1940s and 1950s should not be taken into consideration as a sportif competition only. This rivalry is a representation of competition of two economical sources of Adana: cotton, its producers established Adanaspor, and railways, that shaped the culture of Adana Demirspor.
