Buna ilişkin olarak bu çalışmada ilgili dönemde Makine Mühendisliği Odası’nın Türkiye siyaseti ile etkileşimi, örgütsel ilişkileri, iç ilişkileri, faaliyetleri ve Makine Mühendisliği Odası’na izini bırakmış kişiler araştırılmıştır. Makine Mühendisliği Odası’nın 1980 2000 yılları arasındaki döneminin araştırılmak için seçilme sebebi, aynı dönemde Türkiye’nin hızlı ve değişken siyasi ortamının, demoktarik kitle örgütü olan MMO’yu her alanda nasıl etkilediğin i incelemek için elverişli bir dönem olmasıdır. Bu araştırmanın oluşturulmasında özellikle TMMOB Kanunu, TMMOB MMO Yönetmeliği, MMO’nun oda bültenleri, MMO’nun çalışma raporlarından yararlanılmıştır. Ayrıca, odanın 1986 1990 ve 2004 2008 arası dönemlerinde yönetim kurulunda görev almış Atila Çınar ile konuyla ilgili yapılan röportajdan edinilen bilgiler de çalışmanın oluşmasında önemli bilgiler sağlamıştır. Araştırmadan çıkarılan sonuç, özellikle 1980 dönemi ve sonrasında değişen siyasi ortamdan demokratik bir kitle örgütü olarak Makine Mühendisliği Odası kayda değer anlamda etkilenmiştir. Bu dönemde oda ekonomik sıkıntılar çekmiş, oda kanununda yapılan değişikliklerle odanın vasıfları azaltılmış, yönetim kurulu seçimleri sebebiyle odanın iç ilişkileri çalkantılı zamanlar geçirmiştir.This research aims to reveal information about the period between 1980 and 2000 regarding the Chamber of Mechanical Engineering. In this study, the interaction of the Chamber of Mechanical Engineering with Turkish politics, organizational relationships, internal affairs, activities, and individuals who have left their mark on the Chamber of Mechanical Engineering have been investigated in relation to the mentioned period. The reason for choosing the period between 1980 and 2000 to be investigated regarding the Chamber of Mechanical Engineering is that it was a suitable period to examine how Turkey's fast-paced and volatile political environment influenced the democratic mass organization, namely the Chamber of Mechanical Engineering, in all areas. In the creation of this research, particular emphasis was placed on utilizing the TMMOB Law, TMMOB Chamber of Mechanical Engineering Regulation, chamber bulletins, and working reports of the Chamber of Mechanical Engineering. Furthermore, important information for the development of the study was obtained from interviews conducted with Atila Çınar, who served on the board of directors of the Chamber during the periods of 1986-1990 and 2004-2008, providing valuable insights on the subject matter. The conclusion drawn from the research indicates that the Chamber of Mechanical Engineering, as a democratic mass organization, was significantly influenced by the changing political environment, especially during the 1980s and thereafter.
