It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 21-22).Bu makalede, 1960’larda Batman ilinde yapılmış olan petrol arama çalışmaları konu alınmaktadır. Araştırma kapsamında, 1960-1970 yılları arasında, Batman’da petrol arama çalışmalarına katılmış olan Tuncer Yüzen’in yaşadıklarını ve deneyimlerini, sözlü tarih çalışması üzerinden genel hatlarıyla, 60’lı yıllarda, Batman’da yapılan petrol arama işlemlerine değinilmiştir. Ayrıca, 1960’larda petrol aramalarına dahil olan farklı şirketler ve kurumlar hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Bununla birlikte, petrol arama çalışmalarının ekonomik, siyasi ve sosyokültürel etkileri incelenmektedir.In this article, the petroleum exploration efforts conducted in the Batman province during the 1960s are the subject of discussion. Within the scope of the research, the experiences and memories of Tuncer Yüzen, who participated in oil exploration activities in Batman between 1960 and 1970, were discussed through oral history research, touching on the general outline of oil exploration operations in Batman during the 1960s. Moreover, information was provided about different companies and institutions involved in petroleum exploration in the 1960s.
