It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Ayrıca Türkiye’deki akademide var olan dünyayla yarışamama paradigmasını yurt dışından bölüme gelen ve araştırmalarını Bilkent’te devam ettiren hocaların getirdiği araştırma kültürü sayesinde kırarak Türkiye’nin akademik araştırmalar açısından da eksikliklerini gidermiş ve ciddi araştırmaların gerçekleştirildiği bir ülkeye dönüşmesine katkı sağlamıştır.Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was opened in 1986 as one of the first departments of Bilkent University. With the innovations brought by Abdullah Atalar, head of the EEE department at the time , and various other professors; Bilkent EEE has deeply influenced the undergraduate and graduate education of other universities in Turkiye, and these innovations enabled the electrical and electronics engineering education to take its current form.
