It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 16-17).Drag kültürü, altmışlı yılların sonlarından itibaren dünyada ve Türkiye'de eğlence hayatında öne çıkmaya başladı. Bunu takip eden seksenli ve doksanlı yıllarda, başta Amerika olmak üzere, birçok drag queenin tiyatro, sinema ve moda alanında yer almaya başlaması ile birlikte drag popüler kültürde bir yer edindi. Bu araştırmada drag kültürünün Türk sahne sanatları ve eğlence tarihindeki yerinden bahsedilmektedir. Bu kültürün Türkiye'deki ilk temsilcisi, "Huysuz Virjin" olarak bilinen Seyfi Dursunoğlu ve bugünün drag sahnesinde "Matmazel Coco" adıyla öne çıkan temsilcilerinden biri olan Seyhan Arman'ın hayatları ele alındı. Araştırmada, Türkiye'de drag kültürünün tarihi incelenerek bu iki ismin drag sanatına olan etkileri ve gelişiminde oynadıkları rol üzerinde durulmuştur.Drag culture had started to become prominent in nightlife globally, as well as in Turkey in the late sixties. In the eighties and nineties that followed, notably in United States, several drag queens had started to appear in theatre, cinema and fashion scenes which made drag culture to got its place in popular culture. Drag culture's role in Turkish performing arts and entertainment history will be discussed in this paper. This research will feature drag culture's first representative in Turkey, Seyfi Dursunğlu who is known as "Huysuz Virjin"; and Seyhan Arman, a prominent name in today's drag scene in Turkey, known as "Matmazel Coco".
