It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Araştırma, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’ndan Cumhuriyet dönemine ve günümüze kadar uzanacak şekilde, çeşitli dönemlerdeki mizah dergilerinin toplumsal etkilerini incelemektedir. İlk olarak, Osmanlı dönemindeki mizah dergilerinin toplumsal yapıyı nasıl etkilediği ve bu dergilerin toplumu eğitme amacıyla sosyal normlara karşı nasıl bir tavır sergilediği ele alınacaktır. Cumhuriyet dönemine geçişle birlikte, mizah dergilerinin toplumsal eleştiri ve bilinçlendirme işlevlerine nasıl katkı sağladığına odaklanılacaktır. Ardından, 1980’lerde öne çıkan Gırgır, Leman ve Limon gibi dergilerin, dönemin sosyal, kültürel ve politik yapısını nasıl eleştirdiği ve toplumsal normlara karşı gösterdikleri duruş incelenecektir. Bu dergilerin, halkı eğitme ve dönemin sorunlarına dikkat çekme işlevleri üzerinde de durulacak ve mizah dergilerinin toplumsal bilinçlenmeye katkıları vurgulanacaktır. Son olarak, günümüz mizahına olan etkileri de ele alınarak, geçmiş dönemlerdeki mizah dergilerinin bugünkü mizah anlayışına nasıl yön verdiği tartışılacak, toplumsal eleştiriyi ve mizahı hâlâ güçlü bir araç olarak kullanan dergilerin toplumsal bilinçlenmeye katkısı incelenecektir.This study aims to examine the social and cultural impacts of humor magazines in Turkey. It explores the societal influence of humor magazines across different periods, from the Ottoman Empire to the Republican era and the present day. First, the study addresses how humor magazines during the Ottoman period influenced societal structures and challenged social norms with the intent of educating society. The transition to the Republican era is analyzed with a focus on how humor magazines contributed to social critique and awareness. The research then examines prominent magazines of the 1980s, such as Gırgır, Leman, and Limon, highlighting how they critiqued the social, cultural, and political structures of the time and resisted prevailing norms. Emphasis is placed on their roles in educating the public and drawing attention to contemporary issues, underscoring their contributions to societal awareness.
