It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 30-32).1970-2000 yılları arasında Türkiye’de dağcılık tüm dünya ile paralel olarak büyük bir hızla gelişti. Dağcılık faaliyetlerindeki bu artış beraberinde yeni maceraların başlangıcını, bu yeni maceralar ise dağ kazaları olarak bir çatı adı altında toplayabileceğimiz bir takım trajik olayın artışını beraberinde getirdi. Dağ kazaları arttıkça arama kurtarma faaliyetlerine göz ardı edilemeyecek bir talep baş gösterdi. Biz bu kâğıtta Türkiye’de 1970-2000 arasında yaşanan bu dağ kazalarına ve beraberinde kurumsallaşan arama kurtarma faaliyetlerinin kısa geçmişine bir göz attık. Bu çerçevenin içerisinde dağcılık ve arama kurtarmanın kısa tarihini, bu süreçte mevzuat ile nasıl düzenlendiğini, arama kurtarma ekiplerinin niteliklerini ve gelişimini, başlıca dağlarımızı ve tercih edilen rotalarını, dağ kazalarının altında yatan nedenleri ve muhtemel örüntüleri, teknoloji ve ekipmanın gelişiminin dağda yaşanan tecrübelerde nasıl değişikliklere yol açtığını bu spora gönül vermiş üç deneyimli dağcıya sorduk (Ersan Başar, Nasuh Mahruki, Tunç Fındık). Bu araştırma kâğıdı, onların bizimle paylaştıkları değerli bilgiler ve kendi araştırmalarımızın harmanlanması sonucunda, üzerine pek fazla araştırma yapılmamış söz konusu konuları aydınlatması ve kendisinden sonra gelecek ileri araştırmalara bir temel niteliği teşkil etmesi amacıyla yazıldı.Between the years 1970 and 2000, mountaineering in Turkey has developed rapidly in parallel with the rest of the world. This increase in mountaineering activities led to the beginning of new adventures, and these new adventures brought an increase in the number of tragic events that we can refer as mountain accidents. As mountain accidents increased, a non-negligible demand for search and rescue activities has emerged. In this paper, we take a look at these climbing accidents in Turkey between the years 1970-2000 and the brief history of search and rescue activities that became institutionalized in the process. Within this framework, we asked three experienced mountaineers (Ersan Başar, Nasuh Mahruki and Tunç Fındık), who have devoted themselves to this sport, the brief history of mountaineering and search and rescue, how it is regulated by legislation in this process, the qualifications and development of search and rescue teams, Turkey’s main mountain attractions and their preferred routes, the underlying cause and possible patterns of climbing accidents, how the development of technology and equipment can lead to changes in mountain experiences.
