It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 19-21).Ankara'da toplu ulaşımın bir parçası olarak metro yapılması düşüncesi ilk defa 1967 yılında tartışılmaya başlanmıştır. Metronun temelleri 1980 ve 1987 yıllarında ayrı ayrı atılmış olsa da bu çalışmalar devam ettirilememiş; ancak Mehmet Altınsoy'un gerçekleştirmekte olduğu ihaleleri ve çalışmaları devralıp neticeye kavuşturan Murat Karayalçın yönetiminin 1993'te temelini atmış olduğu metro inşaatı, 1997 yılında Melih Gökçek yönetimi zamanında tamamlanarak kullanıma açılmıştır. Bu ilk hattın açılmasından, 5 Ocak 2017'de açılan dördüncü hatta kadar toplamda 57,2 kilometreden ve 42 istasyondan oluşan Ankara metrosu, her gün yüz binlerce başkentlinin ulaşım ihtiyacının giderilmesini sağlamaktadır.The discussions regarding the construction of Ankara Metro began in the year 1967. The foundations of Ankara Metro have been attempted two times in 1980 and 1986, both of which did not continue. However, Murat Karayalçın's administration who took over the negotiations and processes started by Mehmet Altınsoy, successfully initiated the foundations of Ankara Metro in 1993 which was finished and opened to public in 1997 under the administration of Melih Gökçek.
