It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (page 20).Türk-Alman ilişkileri çok uzun yıllardan beri gün yüzünde olan ve hala konuşulan en önemli mevzulardan biridir. Almanya ile ilişkilerin gelişmesinde devletin edindiği rol dışında birçok yardımcı etken bulunmaktadır ancak bunlardan biri en önemlisi sayılabilecek nitelikte olan Alman kökenli Krupp firmasıdır. Bu yüzden Krupp firmasının o dönemden günümüze yaptığı faaliyetler bizler için incelenmeye ve araştırılmaya değer bulunmuştur. Krupp firması 1. Dünya Savaşı zamanlarında özellikle silah alanında yaptığı katkılarla iki ülke arasında dikkate değer bir etken olarak ortaya çıkmış ve dostluğun gelişimine katkı sağlamıştır. Cumhuriyetin ilanı sonrasında kendini sadece silah alanında sınırlı tutmayıp farklı sektör ve sanayi dallarına açılarak, kendisini sivil alanda da önemli bir noktaya taşımıştır. Krupp firmasının çeşitli alanlarda yapmış olduğu yatırımlar, günümüz Türkiye sanayisinin oluşmasında büyük rol oynamıştır. Araştırmakta olduğumuz projemiz, Türk-Alman ilişkilerine bunca yıldır Krupp firmasının yapmış olduğu etkileri ortaya çıkarmayı, genel ve tarafsız bir bakış açısıyla yaklaşarak firmayı tanımayı ve Cumhuriyet döneminden bugüne Türkiye’deki faaliyetlerini ele almayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu bağlamda, gerekli kişiler ile röportaj yapılıp, pek çok yazılı kaynaktan yararlanılmıştır.Turkish-German relations are one of the most important and spoken objects for many years. Apart from the role that the state has in the development of German relations, there are also many subsidiary factors. However, the most significant of them is Krupp firm of German origin, which was considered to be the most important. It is worth to investigate and search the activities of the firm from past to present. Krupp firm especially with the contributions made in the arms flow, is a remarkable factor between two countries during World War I. After the establishment of the Republic, Krupp firm went beyond the arm flow and got into different sectors. As a result of these improvements, Krupp carried itself to an important point in the civil life. Krupp firm’s investments have been made in various fields, which have played a big role in the formation of today’s Turkish industry. Our project intends to reveal the effects that Krupp company has done for so many years to Turkish-German relations, to assess the firm from an objective viewpoint and to clarify its activities in Turkey from the early republican times till today.
