It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Fakülte ilerleyen yıllarda Müzik ve Sahne Sanatları Fakültesinden ayrıldı ve mevcut ismini aldı. Bu araştırma çalışmasında fakültenin kuruluşunun süreç olarak aktarılmasından başlayıp ilk yıllarında eğitim anlayışındaki değişimler, kuruluşundaki vizyonu, kuruluşundaki fiziksel koşullar ve sanat, tasarım ve mimarlık camialarına kazandırdıkları incelenmiştir. Bu süreçte 1990 yılından beri fakülte bünyesinde gerek öğrenci, gerek öğretim görevlisi, gerek yönetici olarak görev yapmış ve hala yapmaya devam eden Burcu Şenyapılı Özcan ile yapılan röportaj, kurucu dekan Altan Günalp’in hastalanması sonrası fakülteye yirmi sekiz yıl boyunca dekanlık yapmış ve kuruluş sürecinin bir parçası olmuş Bülent Özgüç ile yapılan röportaj ve konuyla alakalı erişilebilen akademik kaynaklar incelenmiş ve kullanılmıştır.İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture was founded in 1984 along the faculties that were present during the foundation of university as a whole under the name of Faculty of Fine Arts with Altan Günalp being its founding dean. Faculty was consisting of three departments which were Graphic Arts, Painting and Music when it started accepting students in 1986. The faculty later on got separated from the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts and got its current name. In this paper of research, faculties foundation process, vision of the faculty at its foundation, the changes in the field of education in its early times, physical conditions in its early times and its contribution to the fields of art, design and architecture will be inspected.
