It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 14-15).In this paper, history and cultural significance of tulumba tatlisi will be studied. Tulumba is a centuries old sweet which is important in the Turkish culture. The sweet is known to hail from the Ottoman Empire and has been led down by generations since. The texture and taste of the sweet are quite different from the other Turkish sweets which makes Tulumba tatlisi special in the Turkish culture while there might be many similar sweets to tulumba which include the Spanish Churros, The Balkan Tulumba. Tulumba is also known as the brothel sweet. The method of making tulumba has been quite fixed throughout the centuries which includes deep frying as its main method. This paper analyzes the history of tulumba, the similarity of tulumba to other sweets and if tulumba inspired other sweets as well. The paper also analyzes the method of tulumba making to see whether the method of preparation has changed since the Ottoman period or not.Bu yazıda tulumba tatlisi'nin tarihi ve kültürel önemi incelenecektir. Tulumba, Türk kültüründe önemli olan asırlık bir tatlıdır. Tatlı, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'ndan geldiği biliniyor ve o zamandan beri nesiller tarafından aşağı çekiliyor. Tatlının dokusu ve tadı diğer Türk tatlılarından oldukça farklıdır, bu da Tulumba tatlısını Türk kültüründe özel kılar. Ayrıca tulumba'ya İspanyol Churros, Balkan Tulumba ve hatta Genelev tatlısı gibi birçok benzer tatlı vardır. Tulumba yapma yöntemi, ana yöntem olarak derin kızartmayı içeren yüzyıllar boyunca oldukça sabitlenmiştir. Bu makale, tulumbanın tarihini, tulumbanın diğer tatlılara benzerliğini ve tulumba'nın diğer tatlılara da ilham verip vermediğini analiz etmektedir.
