Yekdeş, Ömer Faruk2016-02-082016-02-08200713003984http://hdl.handle.net/11693/23316Simon Dentith defines parody as "any cultural practice that critically or allusively imitates another cultural product or practice". Examined in terms of this definition, "praying for rain" and "quack's hearing" in the movie entitled "Swindler" starring Kemal Sunal, are seen to be parodied. The movie, transforming these two folkloric practices, turns them into objects of humor with the aim of criticism. And in so doing, the movie takes these practices as peculiar to villagers and satirizes them from an urban point of view.TurkishGermanyParodyPrayer for rainQuack's healingVillageThe parody of "Prayer for Rain" and "Quack's Healing" in the movie "Swindler"“Üçkâğıtçı” filminde yağmur duası ve üfürmenin parodisiArticle
