In this article, the historical development of judo sport both in the world and in Turkey, Hüseyin Özkan's progress until the Sydney Olympics, and his success that resulted in a gold medal in this Olympics are examined. Although judo sport has survived to this day with the effects of sumo and jiu jitsu, it has been mentioned that this interaction does not follow a chronological order, but judo has managed to differentiate itself from these sports in various ways, and this separation has been realized especially thanks to the achievements of Jigoro Kano at a time when Japan was oppressed by the west. The success of Hüseyin Özkan, who brought the gold medal to Turkey in the Sydney Olympics, is supported in the article by mentioning the history of the world Olympics and the fact that judo has become a sport both in the world and in Turkey.30 pages.TurkishCreative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlikeJudoJaponyaDünya olimpiyatlarıHüseyin ÖzkanJapanWorld olympicsTürkiye judo dalında altın madalyayı getiren ilk olimpiyat şampiyonu Hüseyin Özkan ve Türkiye'de judonunStudent ProjectSPB4714
