It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (page 14).Ferforje, insanlığın demiri ilk defa eritmesinden beri var olan ve demirin dövülerek şekil verilmesi ile yapılan sanat dalına ve mimari tekniğe verilen addır. Türkiye’de ferforje sanatının sayılı ustalarından biri olan Nihat Gökçe, zamana karşı yenik düşmeye başlayan bu sanatın temsilcilerinden biridir. Bu araştırma yazısında yazının ana odağındaki kişi olan Nihat Gökçe ile yapılan röportaj doğrultusunda ferforje sanatının ne olduğu, Nihat Gökçe’nin de eğitim almış olduğu sanat meslek okulları araştırıldı. Günümüzdeki ferforje sanatının durumu ve geleceği, Nihat Gökçe’nin gözünden incelendi. Nihat Gökçe’nin Ankara Kalesi’nde kendi dükkanını açmaya başladığı zaman sonrasındaki Ankara Kalesi tarihi incelendi ve Nihat Gökçe’nin ferforje sanatındaki tecrübeleri aktarıldı.Wrought iron is the name given to the branch of art and architectural technique made by forging iron and has existed since humanity melted iron for the first time. Nihat Gökçe, one of the few masters of wrought iron art in Turkey, is one of the representatives of this art which has begun to succumb to time. In this research article, in line with the interview with Nihat Gökçe, who is the main focus of the article, what the art of wrought iron is and the Artisan Handcraft schools where Nihat Gökçe was educated were researched. The situation and future of today's wrought iron art were examined through the eyes of Nihat Gökçe.
