The earthquake that took place in Marmara in 1999 is the most destructive earthquake that Turkey has experienced in recent history. In this incident, where not only the residents of the region but also everyone in Turkey were deeply affected, the joint efforts of the state and non- governmental organizations in the conduct of search and rescue efforts should not be ignored. In this study, the work of the state and non-governmental organizations in the search and rescue efforts in the 1999 Marmara earthquake will be discussed under three main headings as the functioning and reaction of the state mechanism in those years, the state of the people after the earthquake and the aid received, and the post-earthquake reconstruction of the city.17 pagesTurkishCreative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlikehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/Marmara depremiDevletSivil toplumArama ve kurtarmaMarmara earthquakeGovernmentNon-governmental organizationsSearch and rescue1999 Marmara depremi: Arama ve kurtarma çalışmalarında devlet-sivil toplum iş birliğiStudent ProjectSPB3924
