It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 14-15).Türk kahvesi kültürü özellikle Osmanlı Devleti ile yaygınlaşıp yıllar boyunca sosyolojik değişimler geçirmiştir ve sadece gastronomik bir unsur olarak değil kültürel bir yapı taşı olarak günümüze kadar gelmiştir. Mandabatmaz Kahvecisi’de Beyoğlu’nun gözde bir mekanı olarak Türk tarihinde kahve kültürünün temsilcileri arasında ilk akla gelen mekanlardan birisidir. Bu çalışmada, Türk kültüründe kahvenin önemi, Osmanlı’da Türk kahvesi ve Mandabatmaz’ın bu bağlamda nasıl bir rol oynadığı, kuruluşu, gelişimi, yıllar içerisinde uğradığı ve karşılaştığı değişikliklerin ve Mandabatmaz’ın Türkiye’de yaşanan değişimlere karşı duruşunun incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır.The Turkish coffee culture, especially popular during the Ottoman Empire era, has encountered some sociological changes over the years and became not only a gastronomic element but also a building block of the coffee culture up to the present day. Mandabatmaz Kahvecisi stands out as one of the significant representatives of coffee culture in Turkish history, located in a valuable spot in Beyoğlu.
