It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (page 16).Mehmet Halis Beyhanoğlu 1924 yılında Erzurum'un Hınıs ilçesinde dünyaya gelmiştir. Yaşamının yarısını geçirdiği Erzurum'da ilkokul ve ortaokul eğitiminin ardından İkinci Dünya Savaşı nedeniyle lise eğitimini tamamlayamamıştır. Eşi Dilara Beyhanoğlu ile burada evlenen Halis Beyhanoğlu, 1970 yılında yaşamının geri kalanını geçirdiği şehir olan Ankara'ya göç etmiştir. Okuma azmini ve hayat enerjisini hiç yitirmemiş olan Halis Beyhanoğlu, yarıda bıraktığı eğitim hayatına bir tane lise, iki tane üniversite bitirerek devam etmiş ve Türkiye'deki en yaşlı üniversite bitiren insan unvanına sahip olmuştur. Mehmet Halis Beyhanoğlu 2016 yılında Ankara'da doğal sebeplerden dolayı vefat etmiştir.Mehmet Halis Beyhanoğlu was born in 1924 in the town called Hınıs in Erzurum. After he finished elementary school in Erzurum where he spent half of his life time, he could not go to high school due to World War 2. Halis Beyhanoğlu married with his wife Dilara Beyhanoğlu and after that they immigrated to Ankara where he spent the other half of his life time. As he was dedicated to get educated and full of life energy, he continued his education by going to a high school and two universities. He also earned the title 'The oldest person in Turkey who went to university.'
