It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 18-19).Türkiye Atom Enerjisi Kurumu (TAEK), Türkiye'nin 60 yılı aşkın nükleer teknoloji geçmişinde bilimsel araştırmaların, ulusal ve uluslararası faaliyetlerin ve hükümetlerin nükleer enerji politikalarının merkezinde yer almış bir kurumdur. Türkiye'nin nükleer enerji alanındaki ilerlemesine ve istihdamına katkıda bulunan kurum, ülkenin uluslararası platformlardaki itibarının artması amacıyla uluslararası deneylerde boy göstermiş ve seçkin kuruluşlarla anlaşmalara varmıştır. TAEK, bunlara ek olarak, Çernobil kazasını takiben Türkiye'de gelişen radyasyonla mücadele ve kriz yönetimi sürecinde rol oynamış, Türkiye'nin nükleer santral kurulumu sürecinde yer almış ve son olarak kuruluşundan bugüne olumlu ve olumsuz eleştirilerin odağı olmuştur.Turkish Atomic Energy Authority (TAEK) is an institution at the heart of the scientific research and Turkey's national and international activities on nuclear technologies, and played role nuclear energy policies of Turkish governments, for more than 60 years. TAEK, which enhanced Turkey's progress in the nuclear technologies and contributed to employment in the field, also increased the country's prestige in the international arena by participating in international experiments and taking parts in the deals done with elite institutions.
