It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 16-17).Bu araştırma projesinin amacı, Kıbrıs Barış Harekatı’nın sosyal ve politik anlamdaki etkilerini etnik kökeni Türk olup Yunanistan’da yaşamış ve orada çalışmış, her iki ülkenin vatandaşlarının da duygu ve düşüncelerini görmüş bir esnaf, aşçı olan Mümin Arap’ın bakış açısından incelemektir. Bunun yanında; araştırma iki ülke arasındaki siyasi gerilimin toplumlara ve siyasilere yansıyış biçimini incelerken, Yunanistan’da yaşamış bir Türk’ün gözünden Yunanistan Türklerinin yaşayışlarını ve karşılaştıklarını gün yüzüne çıkarmaktır.The purpose of this research project is to observe the social and diplomatic impacts of the Cyprus Peace Operation, from the perspective of Mümin Arap, an ethnically Turkish chef living and working in Greece who has witnessed the emotions and thoughts of citizens from both countries.
