It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Bu araştırmada tatlıcılığın eski Türk uygarlıklardaki varlığından ve tüketilen tatlı türlerinden bahsedilmiş, tatlı kültürünün gelişimi Türk devletleri ve Osmanlı devleti üzerinden anlatılmıştır. Araştırmada bu kültürün en iyi temsilcilerinden biri olan Hacı Şerif’in kuruluşu ve Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nde tatlıcılığa değinilmiş, kuruluşu ardından Hacı Şerif’in gelişimi, bu süreçte karşılaşılan zorluklar ve firmanın bugün oldukça popüler olan dondurmalı irmik helvası gibi Türk tatlıcılığına olan katkılarından bahsedilmiştir.Desserts have sustained an important role throughout the Turkish history. This research will explain the presence and the culture of confectionery in older Turkish societies as well as elaborating on the development of this culture from ancient Turkish states to Ottoman Empire to Turkish Republic.
