It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Özal’ın başbakanlık görevi öncesi uyguladığı 24 Ocak Kararları ve devamındaki ekonomik politikaları Türkiye’nin neo-liberal ekonomik politikaya entegrasyonu sağlamıştır. Bu dönemlerde Turgut Özal’ın çalışmaları ve beraberinde gelen politikalarının önemi detaylı incelenmiştir. Bu çalışmada; literatür taraması, gazete haberlerinin incelenmesi ve sözlü tarih çalışmalarından faydalanılarak, Turgut Özal’ın başdanışmanlığını yapmış olan Hikmet Özdemir’in görüşleri odağında Turgut Özal’ın siyasi kariyeri ele alınacaktır.Turgut Özal's political career, which started with his working life in the private sector and the State Planning Organization, later included various state duties, and ended with the assassination attempt in the presidency, has an important place in Turkish politics. Özal's January 24 Decisions and subsequent economic policies implemented before his term as prime minister ensured Turkey's integration into neo-liberal economic policy. The importance of Turgut Özal's work and the policies that came with it during these periods have been examined in detail.
