It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 18-19).Osmanlı Devleti’nin Birinci Dünya Savaşı’ndan mağlup çıkmasıyla ülkede ekonomik ve sosyal sorunlar hızla artmıştır. İtilaf Devletleri Osmanlı Devleti’nin birçok toprağında hak iddia etmiştir. O dönemde başkent olan İstanbul’da bu sorunlar çok net bir şekilde kendini göstermiştir. Farklı etnik kökenlerde birçok insan barındıran İstanbul’da asayiş bozulmuştur. Bu yapıdan dolayı ortaya birçok Rum ve Ermeni çetesi çıkmıştır. Bahsedilen Rum çetelerinden biri asıl adı Hristo Anastadiyadis Ahilya olan Hrisantos’un liderliğini yaptığı çetedir. Hrisantos başta polis başta olmak üzere birçok kişiyi öldürmüştür. Uzun çabalar ve planlar sonucunda polis memuru Cafer Tayyar tarafından öldürülmüştür.After Ottoman Empire was defeated in World War I, many economic and social problems appeared in the country. Entente States wanted many places from Ottoman Empire. Istanbul was the capital city of Ottoman Empire, and consequences of these problems could easily be seen in the capital city. There were many people from different ethnicities in Istanbul, and the city was perturbed. Because of this structure in İstanbul, many Armenian and Greek crimal gangs were formed. One of the Greek gang was Hrisantos’s gang. His real name was Hristo Anastadiyadis Ahilya. Hrisantos killed many people especially police.
