It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. The Anatolian High Schools examination in 1992 was canceled the day of the exam, the 1999 ÖSS was canceled the day before the exam because the questions were stolen. This situation had a deep impact on the 1981 generation. In this study, the central exam scandals that occurred in Turkey in 1992 and 1999, will be presented together with anecdotes compiled from oral and written sources. First, the development of the central exam system will be discussed. The cancellations of the 1992 Anatolian High Schools exam and the 1999 ÖSS will be examined in detail under separate headings.
