It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (page 14).Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtı'nı, görevini tank şoförü olarak gerçekleştirmiş bir gazi olan Selahattin Aktaşoğlu'nun yaşamına etkisi üzerinden ele alan araştırma, genel hatlarıyla Selahattin Aktaşoğlu'nun harekât öncesi askeri döneminden başlayarak, harekâtın sonuçlandırılmasına kadar olan süreci ve aynı zamanda Muharip Gaziler Derneği Ödemiş Şubesi Kurucusu ve Başkanı Selahattin Aktaşoğlu'nun dernek çalışmalarını detaylandırmaktadır. Çalışma, harekât öncesi askerlik tecrübelerini ve harekât sırasındaki yaşadıklarını Aktaşoğlu'nun gözünden aktarırken, aynı zamanda Aktaşoğlu'nun harekâttan sonra durumlara bakış açısını, dernek çalışmalarını ve etkilerini Aktaşoğlu'nun psikolojisi üzerindeki yansımaları ile birlikte ele almaktadır. Selahattin Aktaşoğlu, günümüzde de hazırladığı kitaplar ve belgeseller ile toplum bilincini arttırmak amacını sürdürmektedir.The research mainly covers through the effects of Cyprus Peace Operation before it was even started and all the way through the ending on Selahattin Aktaşoğlu's life, who was a war veteran served as a tank driver and the founder and chairman of Ödemiş War Veterans Association, and elaborates on his operations on the association. The research also covers his military experiences before Cyprus Peace Operation and what he had to go through after the operation while shedding light on Aktaşoğlu's point of view on the post-operation situation, his association workshops and its effects on Aktaşoğlu's psychology.
