It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 18-19).1885 yılında kurulan ve Anadolu’da kurulan ilk lise unvanını taşıyan Abdurrahmanpaşa Lisesi, tarihi boyunca Kastamonu’nun, hatta Anadolu’nun seçkin liselerinden biri olmuştur. Mezun verdiği sayısız önemli isim bu seçkinliğini pekiştirmektedir. Bu isimlerin arasında birçok üst düzey kamu görevlisi, yazar, bilim adamı bulunmaktadır. Ayrıca lisenin mezunlarından Rıfat Ilgaz, Türk sinema tarihine de damga vuran eseri Hababam Sınıfı’nda, bu lisedeki anılarından esinlenmiştir. Bu çalışmada Abdurrahmanpaşa Lisesi’nin kuruluşundan, Kurtuluş Savaşı dönemlerinde yaşadığı zorluklardan ve lisedeki öğrencilik hayatından bahsedilmiştir.Abdurrahmanpaşa High School, which is established in 1885 and has a title about being the first high school in Anatolia, has been one of the outstanding high schools in not only Kastamonu, but also the whole Anatolia. Many significant graduates from this school strengthens the importance of AbdurrahmanpaĢa High School. There are a lot of top level public servants, authors, scientists within these graduates. On the other hand, Rıfat Ilgaz, a graduate from AbdurrahmanpaĢa Lisesi, inspired from his memories in this school while writing his “Hababam Sınıfı” book, which is turned into a very well known film in Turkish cinema history.
