In the aftermath of World War I and the War of Independence, domestic manufacturing and industry had been totally forgotten in Turkey, as the country suffered major economic consequences. In this era, several attempts were made to build an industry depending on domestic production with the efforts of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Kayseri TOMTAş Aeroplane Factory, which was built jointly with Junkers Flugzeugwerke A.G., was one of the most substantial attempts that were made. By manufacturing homemade planes together with foreign aircrafts with patents in this period where multiple countries from different continents are struggling with post-war problems along with the Republic of Turkey, the factory achieved a phenomenal success that should be taken as an example by the Republic of Turkey currently. The aim of this project is to investigate the establishment process of the factory, the effects of the factory in foreign policies, aeroplanes manufactured in the factory and lastly the factors that caused the shut-down of the factory.43 pages.TurkishCreative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlikeSanayiiKayseriTOMTAŞJunkersTayyareFabrikaİndustryAeroplaneFactoryÜRE HIST 200-17/3 2018-19Kayseri Tayyare FabrikasıStudent ProjectSPB2606
