It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 18-20).Kıbrıs’ta Türk ve Rum topluluklar arasında yıllardır süren şiddet olaylarının artması nedeniyle İngiltere, Türkiye ve Yunanistan arasında düzenlenen konferans devam ederken 5 Eylül 1955’te Atatürk’ün Selanik’te bulunan evinin bombalandığı yönünde haberler halk arasında yayılmaya başlamış ve büyük bir tepki toplamıştır. Bu haber üzerine galeyana gelen halk, bugün 6-7 Eylül olayları olarak anılan pogromu gerçekleştirmiş ve Kıbrıs sorunu etkilerini günümüze kadar taşıyan uluslararası bir sorun haline gelmiştir. Bu makalede 6-7 Eylül olaylarının İstanbul’da nasıl yankı bulduğu anlatılacaktır.The ongoing struggles and attacks that continued for years between the Turks and Greeks living in Cyprus made England to promote a conference in London about the issue. While the conference was proceeding, the news about Atatürk’s house in Thessaloniki was being bombed spread among people and gathered a great reaction. The people who were enraged by this news started to make the pogrom known as 6-7 September events real and the Cyprus issue has become an international problem that has its effects until today.
