It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (page 16).Küba halkının bağımsızlık mücadelesinin fikir lideri olan Jose Marti’nin ülkesine çok uzakta olan bir ülkede, Türkiye’nin başkentinde Ankara’da büstü bulunmaktadır. Her ne kadar Küba ve Türkiye birbirinden fiziksel olarak uzakta bulunup, ideolojik olarak farklılıklar gösterse de, Küba ve Türkiye’nin ulusal egemenlik uğrundaki mücadeleleri benzerlikler içermektedir. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk ve Jose Marti, işgalci güçlere karşı halkılarını birleştiren iki önemli liderdir. Havana’da bulunan Mustafa Kemal Atatürk büstü, Jose Marti büstünün dışında Küba topraklarında bulunan tek devlet adamı büstüdür. Jose Marti’nin Küba bağımsızlığına yaptığı katkılar, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’ün Türk Kurtuluş Savaşı’nda izlemiş olduğu yol ile iz düşüm içindedir.Jose Marti who is the main symbol of Cuban independence movement with his ideas. His statue has been located in a long way off from Cuban soil. In the capital city of Turkey honours his statue side-by-side with Turkish leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Even though Turkey and Cuba are far from each other as a distance. These two countries have similarities in terms of experiences in order to obtain freedom and independence from imperial powers of the world in different periods in history. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and Jose Marti has become unifying powers for the people of these two countries. Contributions which is made by Jose Marti reflect alikeness with the reforms of which Mustafa Kemal Atatürk held for establishment of modern Turkey.
