It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Yabancı dil eğitimi konusunda önemli bir konumda bulunan Bilkent Üniversitesi Hazırlık Programının kuruluş aşaması ile müfredat ve organizasyonel yapısının zaman içerisinde geçirmiş olduğu değişiklikler ele alınmıştır. Söz konusu üniversitenin hazırlık programının Türkiye’deki yeri ve önemini anlamak için de Türkiye’de Cumhuriyet Dönemi öncesi ve sonrası yabancı dil eğitimi veren kurumlar incelenmiştir.This study examines foreign language education in Turkey and the Bilkent University Preparatory Program. The establishment phase of Bilkent University Preparatory Program, which has an essential position in foreign language education, and the changes in its curriculum and organizational structure over time are discussed.
