It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Osmanlı’da Sultan Abdülmecit döneminde temelleri atılan porselenciliğin günümüzde yerini bıraktığı markalardan biri Güral Porselendir. Güral Porselen, Ali Güral’ın öncülüğünde kurulan şirketlerin çocukları arasında paylaştırılmasından sonra oğlu İsmet Güral’ın kurduğu bir şirkettir. İsmet Güral’ın vitrifiye, maden, seramik gibi sektörlerde girişimleri olsa da bu firmaların en bilineni Güral Porselen’dir. Güral Porselen Türkiye’nin porselen alanında uzmanlaşmış, porselen üretiminin ve kullanımının yaygınlaşmasına fayda sağlamış bir şirkettir. İsmet Güral ise şirketin günümüzdeki vizyon ve misyonuna sahip olmasında rol oynamıştır.Porcelain production was first introduced to Turkish culture in the Ottoman territories in the 15th century. Porcelain culture still maintains its place/importance in the 21st century. Güral Porselen is one of the companies that continues porcelain production today, the foundations of which were laid during the reign of Sultan Abdülmecit in the Ottoman Empire. Güral Porselen, after the companies established under the leadership of Ali Güral were divided among his children, was founded by his son İsmet Güral. Even though İsmet Güral has ventures in sectors such as sanitary wave, mining, and ceramics, the most known of these companies is Güral Porselen. Güral Porselen is a company that specializes in porcelain in Turkey and has contributed to the widespread of porcelain production and use.
