It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.Includes bibliographical references (pages 18-19).27 Mayıs 1960 askeri müdahalesine giden sürecin en önemli yapı taşlarından biri de pek çok üniversitede yaşanan ve ülke çapında etki yaratan öğrenci eylemleridir. 1957 yılında yapılan seçimlerle alevlenmeye başlayıp, CHP aleyhine kurulan tahkikat komisyonu ile şiddetlenen bu eylemler, genel olarak Demokrat Parti ve onun nezdinde hükümet karşıtı olaylara dönüşmüş, bu olaylarda birkaç öğrenci hayatını kaybetmiştir. Bu bağlamda, araştırma eylemlerin darbeye giden sürecin neresinde yer aldığını, darbeyi ne ölçüde etkilediğini, hükümetin bu süreçteki rolünü ve sonrasında yaşananları kapsamaktadır.University uprisings around the Turkey is pave the way for military intervention of 27th of May, 1960. Initiated by the 1957 general elections and heated by the foundation of an Investigation Committee to investigate main opposition. These uprisings generally were against DP and the government. Couple of university students were killed in these incidents.
