It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Atatürk’ün kurduğu Musiki Muallim Mektebi ile yolu açılmış ancak asıl başlangıç noktası, 1948’de Dame Ninette de Valois’in kurduğu Yeşilköy Bale Okulu olarak kabul edilmiştir. Bu okul ve beraberinde getirdiği bale kültüründen doğan gözde sanatçılardan biri de Hülya Aksular olmuştur. Aksular en genç baş balerin unvanıyla sayısız başarılı eserde yer almış, adını Türk balesinin tarihine altın harflerle yazdırmıştır. Bu kapsamda makale, Türk balesinin önde gelen isimlerinden olan Hülya Aksular'ın hayatını, mesleki gelişimini ve etkileyici kariyerini ele almaktadır. Makalede, Türk bale tarihine kısa bir bakış sunulduktan sonra Aksular’ın bu tarih içinde yer edinme sürecine ve katkılarına odaklanılacaktır.In the 15th century’s Renaissance, the art of ballet rised. By the 16th century, it had reached the Ottoman territories and found itself in the Ottoman palaces.The path for ballet in Turkey was further paved with the establishment of the Musiki Muallim Mektebi by Atatürk; however, the original starting point is considered to be the Yeşilköy Ballet School founded by Dame Ninette de Valois in 1948. Hülya Aksular is one of the distinguished artists born from this school and its ballet culture. By holding the title of the youngest prima ballerina and participating in numerous successful productions, Aksular has her name written with golden letters in the history of Turkish ballet. In this context, this study examines the life, professional development, and impactful career of Hülya Aksular.
