In the first years of the Republic, most of the population of Turkey was living in rural areas and a big proportion of the production in the country came from rural areas, hence it was thought that villages had importance for development and modernization of the country. In line with this thought, the idea of Ideal Republic Village appeared and it was applied by constructing villages in determined areas. Ahi Mesut Village, which was built in Etimesgut, was one of the products of this Project. It had modern architecture and there were many institutions in the village and the immigrants who came from Bulgaria were settled in the village. In the following years, due to increase in population and urbanization in Ankara and Etimesgut, ideal village structure has started to disappear.27 pagesTurkishCreative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlikehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/Örnek köy projesiCumhuriyetEtimesgutAnkaraİdeal village projectRepublicÜNSAL HIST 200-5/3 2019-20Ahi Mesut KöyüStudent ProjectSPB3234
