Barışa ilk adım: Cemal Ergun Eruç

Abstract

Kıbrıs sorunu Türkiye tarihinde önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Sorunun çözümüne yönelik olarak Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtı’ndan önce de adımlar atılmış ve uluslararası görüşmeler yapılmış olmasına rağmen net bir sonuç alınamamıştır. Soruna kesin bir çözüm bulmak ve Ada’daki barışı sağlamak amacıyla, Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtı planlanmıştır. Harekâtın başarıya ulaşmasında kritik rol oynayan komutanlardan biri Cemal Eruç olmuştur. Bu çalışmada Kıbrıs sorunu ve Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtı detaylı bir biçimde incelenmiştir. Harekâtta başarı göstermiş komutanlardan birisi olan Eruç’un askeri hayatı ve harekât sonrası hayatı ele alınmıştır.

The Cyprus Issue has a key role in Turkish history. Despite taking steps and conducting international negotiations for the solution of the problem before the Cyprus Peace Operation, a clear result could not be achieved. The Cyprus Peace Operation was planned to find a definite solution to the issue and to ensure peace on the island. One of the commanders who played a critical role in the triumph of the operation was Cemal Eruç. In this study, The Cyprus Issue and The Cyprus Peace Operation have been examined in detail. The military and post operation life of Eruç, who was one of the successful commanders in the operation, have been discussed.
