This study examines the architectural identity, historical background and socio-cultural reflections in TBMM Mosque, designed by Behruz Çinici between 1985 and 1989. The mosque was evaluated in the context of architectural discussions that took shape in Turkey in the 1990s; the emergence process, architectural vision, aesthetic features and construction stages of this structure, which is at the intersection of traditional Islamic architecture and modern design, were examined. Within the scope of the research, the structure's position within the Islamic architectural tradition, its reflections in the public opinion and its nomination for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture were discussed and the mosque's impact on contemporary mosque architecture in Turkey and its reflections in the Islamic world were also evaluated. In this context, it was aimed to examine the TBMM Mosque as a radical mosque in terms of its structural and cultural role and as a mosque that shapes the future in its field.
