Bu makale, özel gruplarca organize edilen bir modellik yarışması olan “Best Model of Turkey” yarışmasını konu almaktadır. 1988'de düzenlenmeye başlayan bu yarışma; düzenlenmeye başladığı tarihten itibaren Türkiye'nin eğlence sektörüne hem modellik alanındaki en popüler yarışma olmasıyla doğrudan, hem de yarışmacılarının kariyerlerindeki başarılarıyla dolaylı olarak katkıda bulunmuştur. Bu makale; Best Model of Turkey yarışmasının kökleri ve kuruluş aşaması, yıllar içindeki değişimi, gelişimi ve Türkiye'nin eğlenceki sektörü üzerindeki etkisini incelemektedir.

This paper concerns a privately organized modeling contest named “Best Model of Turkey”. Having been established in the year of 1988, it has contributed to the entertainment sector both with its existence as the leading modeling contest and the success of its participants. The paper investigates the contest's roots and commencement of the organization process, change and development throughout the years, and finally its effects on the Turkish entertainment sector.
