On the reliability exponent of the exponential timing channel

The reliability exponent of the exponential timing channel (ETC) was determined for all rates between a 'critical rate' and the channel capacity. The reliability exponent of the ETC was found to coincide with the reliability exponent for the ideal photon channel (IPC) under certain specific conditions. The transmitted information in the ETC was encoded into the interarrival times of customers and the channel transition density was calculated. Only window type block codes were considered in the analysis.
