dc.description.abstractThe plasma frequency - height profile of the ionosphere has an important impact on sky-wave HF communications. In this study, the profile obtained over a geographical region is fit to linear and spherical plane models by using the least-squares method. Conformity of these models to the plasma frequency-height profile is verified by comparing to the profile provided by IRI-Plas-G for a region around Ankara. © 2014 IEEE.en_US
