Lullabies are quadrants which are sung for putting children to sleep and besides they are poems which give a hint about the singer because they are reproduced in every saying. The mother will be accepted as an artist in this study because of being a lullaby singer and the question about why the mother needs to change the lyrics at that moment was asked. At the same time, the answer of this question on the psychoanalytic plane was searched on the account of the fact that this situation was pertinent with the mother's mood. To this end, firstly how the mother can be seen as a poet/ an artist has been brought to light in the article. Then lullaby samples that were compiled from different regions were studied in terms of psychoanalytic point of view. The lullabies about the desire of having a baby/ a boy have been selected and these lullabies have been tried to solve under the light of Sigmund Freud's ideas. It was concluded that these verbal literature studies, which seemed like saying about the same subject, indicated very different issues. Thus, it was tried to exhibit that lullabies are tools which have provided re-emerging of different kinds of emotions that are repressed; and thereby they have a second role.
