Araştırmamızın kapsamı Atılım Üniversitesinin kurucusu Yalçın Zaim’in eğitim hayatını, üniversite kurma fikrinin nasıl ortaya çıktığını, üniversitenin kuruluş döneminde Türkiye’de eğitimin durumunu, üniversitenin kuruluşunu ve kurulduktan sonraki dönemde yapılan çalışmaları içermektedir. Atılım Üniversitesi’nin kurulduğu yıllarda vakıf üniversitelerinin sayısının az olması ve devlet üniversitelerinin sonsuz devlet desteği o dönemde devlet ve vakıf üniversitelerinin en belirgin özelliğidir. Atılım Üniversitesi şu anda bulunduğu konumu, sağladığı olanaklar, eğitimin çift dili olması, akademik kadro seçimi ile diğer üniversitelerden farkını ortaya koymuştur. Atılım Üniversitesinin kütüphanesi de kuruluş döneminden bu yana. Atılım Üniversitesi günümüzde de Türkiye sıralamasında en üstlerde yerini korumakta ve daha iyi olmak için çaba göstermektedir.

The scope of our research includes the educational life of Yalçın Zaim, the founder of Atılım University, how the idea of founding a university emerged, the state of education in Turkey during the founding period of the university, the establishment of the university and the studies carried out in the period after its establishment. The low number of foundation universities and the endless state support of state universities were the most distinctive features of state and foundation universities at that time. Atılım University has distinguished itself from other universities with its current location, the opportunities it provides, the dual language of education, and the selection of academic staff. The library of Atılım University has been around since its foundation. Today, Atılım University maintains its place at the top of Turkey's rankings and strives to be better.
