Abstract

Splendid Palace was opened in 1908 in Buyukada by Hamamcioglu family member Kazim Pasha. The hotel's building was designed according to the hotels Kazim Pasha saw on his trip to France, and the interior of the hotel was designed with many custom-designed furniture. In the first years, it was operating as a hotel, but due to some wars going on in Turkey and the rest of the world, the hotel was confiscated by the army to be used for different purposes. In the Republican Era of Turkey, the hotel was again used as a hotel and was introducing itself to Turkey and the world. The hotel is still being operated by the Hamamcioglu family. The main purpose of the family has been to conserve history and leave it to the next generations. The hotel is now a first-degree historical monument.
